In classes, at shows and at exhibitions, I am frequently asked how I can see to do such apparently fine work. My secret (not that it is one) is one of these … put one of these on top of your stitching, and look through the top and this is what you’ll get:
Unlike linen loupes, these have no moving parts, and the optimum distance is fixed for you for the best possible view.
Normal magnifiers only enlarge up to 2 ½ times – these little lenses do over three times more than that!
The clear acrylic cup below the lens allows light to filter through allowing maximum clarity and visibility
(useful in conjunction with a torch in badly lit museums).
