An unusual canvaswork design in which areas are filled with different stitches to give a varied effect with lots of texture.
Worked in Rayon and metallic threads on 32 count linen. Only two shades of Rayon thread are used in this design, and the different shaded effects are achieved by varying and layering different combinations of thread strands.
Feel free to substitute silk threads of your choosing if you wish.
The design is embellished with glass jewels, attached with clip-on mounts. So simple - no threading needed at all! I find the Rayon is fine to work with if you use slightly shorter lengths than normal (c 30cm / c 10in) and pass these over a just-damp sponge, towel or J-cloth before use. The unusual embellishments catch the light beautifully and complement the shiny effect of the threads.
