Series of 4 Reversible Blackwork Samplers by Linn Skinner
This series of 4 designs is inspired by pages from Peter Quentel's printed modelbuch, dated 1527, the first known printed source to refer to Double Running Stitch as used in Blackwork as 'Spanish Stitch'. The designs vary in complexity - starting from Hearts and Flowers and ending with the Challenge Sampler. These designs come as spiral bound booklets, with historical notes, facsimile pages, charted diagrams. Each band is described individually with the stitching pathway marked numerically and in colour, taking the mystique away from these reversible designs. Why not stitch the 4 designs 'back to back' as a table runner?
The designs are all around 70 stitches wide and vary in height. They can be worked on the fabric of your choice.

Spanish Splendor Reversible Blackwork Chart by Linn Skinner This is the second in this series of four reversible blackwork charts. Wide and narrow bands alternate, with ample scope for embellishment using gold threads, and Cross Stitch is included as well. CHART PRICE: £10.00/$16.00

Increasing in complexity, this design includes secions in Assisi Work and band patterns stitched in metallic thread over a Cross Stitched background.
